French Soaps, Perfect For Father’s Day

Here at The Candle Tree we simply adore our French soap selection and have a large range to suit everyone’s taste. We sell high quality Savon de Marseille French soaps in different scents, sizes and shapes. Our largest range of French soaps are the 125g bars, a very versatile size for the soap dish and shower. All of these handmade French soaps are infused with shea butter to provide your skin with the moisture it needs to stay healthy, firm, and youthful. They are a true delight to use and will not dry out or strip skin of its protective moisture barrier like many harsh hand washes. Soap bars such as these are also extremely effective at cleansing your hands thoroughly and hygienically.

125g Green Clay Soap

125g Poppy French Soap

This 125g Savon de Marseille Poppy Soap, enriched with BIO Shea Butter is an artisan, natural French soap. This soap has extracts of black poppy seeds drawn from the Opium plant and has a strong earthy, musky fragrance. Poppyseed oil is derived from the seeds of the poppy plant, Papaver somniferum. This plant has been cultivated by humans for thousands of years and used for a variety of purposes. The Arabs were the first to use this plant. Poppyseed oil is rich in several different essential fatty acids including:  Linoleic acid and Palmitic acid. Linoleic acid is important for maintaining the water barrier of the skin. It can’t be produced by your body, it must be consumed in the diet. In fact, people with deficiencies in linoleic acid can suffer from scaly skin lesions. Linoleic acid may play a role in wound healing, it can also increase skin absorbance of other compounds that are present along with it. Palmitic acid has antioxidant properties which help prevent free radical damage to maintain youthful radiant skin. Two main functions of palmitic acid are to act as an emulsifier and surfactant and  is a very good emollient. These two fatty acids combined have a superb hydrating and softening effect on the skin.
